Jamie Parrott started as the Head Coach at Bentleigh Rec. in January 2014 and has quickly built a strong coaching program that includes private lessons, squad training, and junior coaching. The club’s 6 en-tout-cas courts, 4 under lights allow play day and night on a surface renowned by all player development experts as the best surface to enhance learning.

“There is a definite and urgent need to improve our stock of clay courts around the country to give our kids as much time as they can on this critical surface all year round to develop their game.” From Steve Healy’s opening speech as President of Tennis Australia in October 2010.

En-tout-cas courts are Melbourne’s answer to clay courts- they are softer under foot, thus reducing the stress on young (and old) players joints. The courts are slower paced than hardcourts and synthetic grass, and this ensures players learn the art of constructing a point. Over 40% of the ATP and WTA tour events are conducted on clay, with the French Open being the claycourt Slam.
